      <image:title>PNE Art Project - Breaking Wave 2.0</image:title>
<image:caption>The replicated Breaking Wave was brought to life as a performance art installation at the PNE, inviting visitors to witness its creation firsthand. Constructed on-site by a team of volunteers using locally-sourced driftwood, this reimagined sculpture highlighted themes of sustainability and ocean conservation. Originally conceptualized for Burning Man to draw attention to ocean pollution from wood waste, Breaking Wave served as both an art piece and an environmental statement, allowing spectators to engage with the process of transforming reclaimed materials into a monumental work.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Standing 16 feet tall within the PNE park grounds, the Waste Not sign was a striking visual statement designed by my friend Willie Kushner. Created from an assortment of plastic discards and waste aluminum, this towering installation embodied the festival’s theme of zero waste. The bold configuration and recycled materials conveyed a powerful message about conservation and responsible consumption, making Waste Not a memorable and impactful feature of the event.</image:caption>

<image:caption>SolarPunk Ikebana was a metal flower arrangement that embodied the theme of energy conservation. Powered by stored solar energy, the installation illuminated at night, casting a warm, vibrant glow. This sustainable aesthetic symbolized the harmony between nature and technology, capturing the vision of a greener, more energy-conscious future.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Berzerkatroid Dragon Videos - Berzerkatroid Dragon | Ron Simmer</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the most impressive aspects of this dragon is its portability. Engineered to be fully road-legal, the structure disassembles into manageable sections that fit neatly onto a car-hauling trailer. Despite its grandeur, the entire setup can be completed in 30 minutes or less. This thoughtful design ensures that the dragon can travel easily to different locations, bringing its magic to a wide audience without extensive logistical challenges. Beyond its visual appeal, the Lumiere dragon invites festivalgoers to engage with the art. Attendees can interact with various elements, whether through motion sensors that trigger light sequences or designated touchpoints that allow them to influence the dragon’s glow and movement. This level of interactivity transforms the dragon from a mere installation into a participatory experience, making it a highlight of the festival.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Recent Exhibitions - Penticton Public Sculpture Exhibit</image:title>
<image:caption>Canadian Woman – Penticton Public Sculpture Exhibit 2025 Downtown Penticton, BC Installed: May 2025 ‘Canadian Woman’ has been newly completed and installed as part of the 2025 Penticton Public Sculpture Exhibit. This year marks the debut of the work in its full form, now crowned with a dramatic, surrealist red rose designed and fabricated by fellow artist Karl Simmons. Originally unveiled without the rose head at Art Vancouver 2025, Canadian Woman now embodies its complete vision: a powerful, hybrid form that blends feminine symbolism with industrial craftsmanship. The rose—crafted from 1/8" aluminum sheet, shaped with a 50-ton press, and TIG welded with painstaking precision—was modeled in 3D software and finished with sandblasting and powder coating to create a wind-swept, high-impact presence. Presented as part of the city’s annual juried outdoor art exhibition, Canadian Woman contributes to Penticton’s ongoing commitment to public art and creative placemaking.
